A native of Tokyo, Japan, Roji Oyama immigrated
to the US in 1958. Raised in a bicultural, bilingual family, the San Francisco resident has also lived in South America, Mexico, and the South Pacific.
Having acted on and off since 1994, Roji’s work has been primarily in industrial/educational film and video, with voice-over and commercial work. Ever the adventurer, he has also worked in commercial real estate, corporate and academic travel industries, as
well as SAG's Book Pals in-school reading program,
which encourages kids to read. He is involved with
community non-profit and assisting in non-profit fundraising projects, and his most recent volunteer project in 2012 took him to the quake-stricken region
of Tohoku, Japan.
